Greg’s world was born out of high school in the leafy suburb of Mosman Park, Perth where 17

year old me was first called Greg. The reference/ inspirationbeing Greg from the film disaster artist with the line “welcome to my planet Greg”. Greg has now fully embodied me, with my friends now taking it a step further and introducing me as ‘Greg’ to other people. 

 

The idea of Greg’s world has evolved over time as I delved deeper into their planet to discover who Greg is and what is their purpose. I have decided that Greg is everyone and anyone if they are wearing a cheesy black moustache. Their planet is stuck in the fashions and interiors of the 60’s/70’s with modern ideas and processes. 

 

To me Greg’s world is an escape from reality they embody what’s cringy today with a sense of authenticity and self-knowing. Its irreverent and fun and each Greg is a facet of who I am and who I want to be. I hope that this continues throughout my practice. I would like to eventually have multiple different people embody Greg regardless of Gender or Ethnicity, as Greg is everyone and anyone. 

 

Within my practice I like to focus on the 60’s/70’s as inspiration in all aspects of my designs, whilst also putting my own personal twist. I value sustainability, interesting design and the ability to not take yourself too seriously and I hope that this is shown throughout my practice…….Anyways enough about this get back into GREGS WORLD and have a FUNKY time.
